MnRTV Live Show- Wed Dec 14,2016 @ 730 est - Krampus - Horrible Christmas Devil!

This Wed night on MnRTV Live show we investigate Krampus the Horrible Christmas Devil! What and who is Krampus? Krampus isn't exactly the stuff of dreams: Bearing horns, dark hair, and fangs, the anti-St. Nicholas comes with a chain and bells that he lashes about, along with a bundle of birch sticks meant to swat naughty children. He then hauls the bad kids down to the underworld. Krampus, whose name is derived from the German word krampen, meaning claw, is said to be the son of Hel in Norse mythology. The legendary beast also shares characteristics with other scary, demonic creatures in Greek mythology, including satyrs and fauns. The legend is part of a centuries-old Christmas tradition in Germany, where Christmas celebrations begin in early December. Krampus was created as a counterpart to kindly St. Nicholas, who rewarded children with sweets. Krampus, in contrast, would swat "wicked" children and take them away to his lair! A more modern take on the tradition in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic involves drunken men dressed as devils, who take over the streets for a Krampuslauf—a Krampus Run of sorts, when people are chased through the streets by the "devils." Why scare children with a demonic, pagan monster? Maybe it's a way for humans to get in touch with their animalistic side. why do people dress like this horrible ugly creature demonic in nature and why was there a movie made about him? MnRTV Live show Split show - The Big Crunch & Saturnalia

This Wednesday for our last show of the year we have a split show First part is The Big Crunch - The Big Crunch is one of the scenarios predicted by scientists in which the Universe may end. It tells us that the Universe’s expansion, which is due to the Big Bang, will not continue forever. Instead, at a certain point in time, it will stop expanding and collapse into itself, pulling everything with it until it eventually turns into the biggest black hole ever. Well, we all know how everything is squeezed when in that hole. Hence the name Big Crunch! Is this even possible I mean God says he will destroy the universe when there will be a fervent heat that will melt the elements and a new heaven and Earth will come. Is this the Big Crunch is this where science and Spirituality come together? Part 2 of our show is Saturnalia what is the connection with this ancient festival to Christmas! Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25. During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the week-long celebration. the earliest Christmas holidays were celebrated by drinking, sexual indulgence, singing naked in the streets (a precursor of modern caroling), etc. We will look into this as we head into Christmas and how the origins of Christmas began and much more! Youtube link will be up 15 minutes before the show!
